Semble is designed around least-privilege, read-only access to the Canvas material your own account can already view.
Canvas access
Your Canvas access token is treated like a password. It is sent once over an encrypted connection, encrypted before storage, and is never placed in browser storage, analytics, logs, or support tools. You can replace or revoke the connection from your account.
Private by default
Course content is owner-scoped and has no public sharing links. Downloads use short-lived links. Semble does not fetch arbitrary web links found inside course pages and does not access grades, submissions, answer keys, or active assessment attempts.
Processing and AI
Files are size-limited and checked before they enter your workspace. Study tools receive only authorised course evidence, never your Canvas token or payment details, and must cite the evidence used or say there is not enough evidence.
Report a concern
Do not include a Canvas token, course content, payment details, or another secret in a report. Use the support contact published with the production service and include only the time, affected screen, and request ID when available.
